Brother Barry Jenkins responded with the quote above. It resonated deeply with me so, I told him that I was going to print it out. I thought I figure I would jazz it up first.

New Chapters
Because my nerves are made up of neurons instead of steel, I find it (at times) unsettling to embark on new paths, journeys and/or chapters in life. I’m human if you weren’t aware. The uncertainty of what’s next can make life painfully exciting (or excitingly painful). I’ve recently begun a new chapter in my life that has been in the making for a few months at this point. For many, this type of recent development would lead to self deprecation and perpetual negativity. Me? Not so much. I woke up this morning feeling pretty damn good and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
As we grow up, we’re taught to chase money over dreams. Security over happiness. Certainty over faith. It’s easy to play it safe. Call my crazy, but I believe that if you pursue your dreams, happiness & contain a decent amount of faith at all times, everything - the cars, money, clothes and hoes - will come. Life isn’t difficult, people are. Put yourself in the mindset of the place you want to be and of the person you want to become and you’ll be just fine. That’s my plan.

Middle of Nowhere
1001 congratulations to director, Ava DuVernay for premiering at Sundance this year. I’ve been waiting some time to see a trailer for “Middle of Nowhere” and I must say it was well worth the wait. ”Middle of Nowhere” is an untold depiction of what many women in urban neighborhoods go through/have gone through when in a relationship with incarcerated men. The life of a prisoner is frequently told but what about everyone in their life who left behind? This is their story.
I look forward to supporting this movie on the big screen, not only because I find Emayatzy Corinealdi to be simply stunning, but because this movie is sure to be an amazing picture.
